(Physalis ixocarpa) Also known as green husk tomatoes, Tomatillo Verde produces small (1–2 inch) fruits enclosed in a thin, papery husk that begins green and sticky, then dries, splits, and fades to light brown as the fruit ripens. Harvest when the fruit is still bright green and firm for the classic sharp, tart, citrus-like flavor that defines authentic salsa verde and Mexican sauces.

Plants are low, sprawling, and vigorous (2–4 feet tall and wide), set fruit earlier than tomatoes, rarely need staking, and tolerate cooler weather better. They deliver heavy yields in a single season.

Important: Tomatillo Verde is not self-fertile—plant at least two (preferably more) for good pollination and fruit production.

Sold in a 2.5" pot.
