Hello! Welcome to Michigan Heirlooms.

I’m Karen Golden – proud owner, grower, and the one-woman force behind every seed saved and every plant we grow. As someone who’s poured my heart (and more than a few tears) into this soil for decades, I’ve learned that the very best lessons come from both the triumphs and the spectacular failures.

None of this, however, would be possible without a host of truly amazing volunteers who show up season after season with smiles, strong backs, and open hearts. Honestly? There would be no Michigan Heirlooms without them – they are the roots that keep this dream growing.

Whether you’re a seasoned grower chasing that perfect heirloom tomato or a curious novice just starting your very first garden, I’d love to connect. I’m always happy to share the hard-won knowledge I’ve gathered over the years – the successes, the epic flops, and everything in between.

Reach out anytime. No question is too basic, no dream too big.

Looking forward to growing together,
Karen Golden

Michigan Heirlooms is my home. First-time customers are sometimes confused when they pull in—they expect a commercial nursery and instead arrive at a regular residential driveway. I live here with my daughter and granddaughters and the property is also home to her small business, Solstice Soap Co. We run everything from this location.

The greenhouses are located to the left and directly behind the garage.

From mid-January through spring I'm on-site daily and respond to messages fairly quickly. Once the season ends—typically mid-June—I close for the year, travel, and am away from the farm. During that time (summer and early fall) my replies will be much slower, but I will answer every message. Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks for reaching out!
