A classic early mid-season heirloom beefsteak tomato that produces medium (4–8 oz), uniformly globe-shaped fruits with smooth, glossy, deep-red skin. The flesh is meaty yet juicy, with fewer seeds and an outstanding balance of sweetness and mild acidity—often described as rich, well-rounded, and classically “tomatoey.” The vigorous regular-leaf plants are indeterminate, dense-foliaged, and highly productive, yielding beautiful slicers perfect for fresh eating from mid-summer until frost.
HISTORY: Introduced in 1886 by the legendary Livingston Seed Company of Columbus, Ohio, Livingston’s Beauty was one of the early commercial successes in American tomato breeding. Alexander Livingston personally praised it for its uniform shape, firmness, and superior flavor, and it quickly became a favorite among late-19th-century gardeners. Though it faded from major catalogs in the early 20th century, the variety was preserved through seed savers and re-popularized in recent decades.
Sold as a single plant in a 3.5" pot.
