A Scottish dwarf type of kale, it is one of the most dependable and flavorful varieties. Tolerant of both cold and hot temperature extremes makes this variety superior for Michigan summers. Slow to bolt and withstands yellowing in cold weather, in fact, flavor is further improved after the first frost, becoming sweeter and more tender.
Leaves have a zesty flavor and are delicious when steamed. Use in salad or in smoothies, like I do. For the last three summers, I have planted my raised bed garden out my back door with nothing but kale and swiss chard - I call it my salad / smoothie box!
Sold in a 2.5" pot.
