Iva's Red Berry is a prolific cherry tomato variety that yields long, trusses loaded with 20–50 small, round fruits each, typically ½–¾ inch in diameter. The bright, red fruits grow on vigorous, indeterminate vines with regular foliage, easily stretching 6–8 feet tall in a productive season. Plants are known for their exceptional output, with gardeners often harvesting hundreds or even thousands of cherries from a single plant, starting around 65 days from transplant.
The real standout is the flavor: intensely sweet with a rich, complex tomato tang that balances candy-like notes upfront and a bright, lingering acidity. The tender skin and juicy, non-watery flesh make them perfect for popping straight off the vine, tossing into salads, or dehydrating into sweet "tomato raisins."
HISTORY: Developed by Iva Graša in Slovenia as a segregant from a stabilized cross between offspring of the hybrids Sungold and Supersweet 100. It was first released at the F5 generation around 2010, quickly gaining popularity among heirloom and open-pollinated enthusiasts for its superior flavor and productivity.
Sold as a single plant in a 3.5" pot.
