Garden Pearl (also sold as Gartenperle, Garden Pearl Pink and Aiapärl) is a dwarf, determinate cherry tomato that produces long, cascading trusses of glossy, rose-pink, round fruits averaging ½–¾ inch in diameter and ½–¾ oz each. The tomatoes have a smooth, crack-resistant skin, juicy flesh, and a bright, sweet-tart flavor that is noticeably sweeter and more complex than most red cherries.
 
Plants are compact and bushy, typically reaching only 12–24 inches tall with regular-leaf foliage, making them ideal for hanging baskets, patio containers, window boxes, or small-space gardens. They are extremely prolific, often yielding hundreds of fruits per plant from early summer until frost, and the vines trail beautifully without needing much support.
 
HISTORY: Garden Pearl was bred in Germany by Reinhard Kraft in the late 1980s as part of a series of compact, decorative tomato varieties intended for balcony and container growing. It was introduced commercially in Europe around 1990 under the name "Gartenperle" and quickly became one of the most popular trailing tomatoes on the continent. The variety was brought to North America in the early 1990s and first offered in the United States by Tomato Growers Supply Company in 1992 as “Garden Pearl” and has remained a top-selling container cherry tomato ever since.
