Boobie (aka “Bobbie”)
Perfectly heart-shaped, glowing pink oxheart tomatoes averaging ¾–1 lb each. Fruits are dense and meaty with very few seeds and outstanding rich, sweet, full-bodied flavor. Large, vigorous indeterminate vines carry wispy regular-leaf foliage—elegant and productive, though they demand strong staking. Notably disease-resistant and remarkably drought-tolerant once established.
HISTORY: First listed in the early 1990s Seed Savers Exchange Yearbook by Ermal N. Kuhns of Indiana (IN KU E) as “BOOBIE” (named for its unmistakable heart/breast shape). The name later offended some, so the late, renowned tomato expert Dr. Carolyn Male quietly renamed her strain “Bobbie.” Grow-outs and trades over the years have confirmed that the two are identical. A playful piece of tomato history that’s now simply cherished for its beauty and exceptional eating quality. A must-grow pink heart for any serious collector.
Sold as one plant in a 3.5" pot.
