A breathtaking beauty with deep indigo-blue anthocyanin shoulders splashed over glowing dark-pink skin and flesh. Fruits average 8–12 oz, are nearly coreless, and deliver perfectly balanced sweet-acid flavor with rich, juicy, complex, and easily a 9.5/10. Production is solid and steady on strong, vigorous indeterminate vines.

Note: The dramatic blue shoulders only develop on fruits exposed to direct sunlight; shaded fruits stay pink and still taste just as good.

HISTORY: Bred by Mark McCaslin of Frogsleap Farm from a 2009–2010 cross of the anthocyanin-expressing P20/OSU Blue line × the bicolor beefsteak Beauty King. In 2011 Mark shared F3 seed with Dean Slater and Blane Horton. Blane grew out later generations and in 2013 discovered one stunning, unstable plant showing bold blue stripes on red-orange fruit. Dean nicknamed it “Siberian Tiger” after the tiger-like striping, and a photo of it went viral in the tomato community.

Blane sent F4/F5 seed (unlabeled generation) to Michigan Heirlooms in 2013. After years of careful selection for stability and the final dark-pink expression, the line is now fully stable and renamed Pink Siberian Tiger — exclusive to Michigan Heirlooms.
