'Diavolicchio Calabrian' translates from Italian to English as Little Devil. Also known as Calabrian bunch pepper, it is grown mostly in Calabria, in the southern region of Italy.
A very productive variety; conical upward growing peppers are arranged in bunches. Pods are about an inch long beginning green and maturing to an intense fiery red with a wonderful spicy flavor. Plants are short in size, and very compact .
While most Calabrian chillies aren’t known for their heat - rather their interesting flavor profiles - this is the hottest of them all coming in at 100,000 SHU.
A great and easy use for the Calabrian chilli is to use it to make chilli oil. This is really easy and has a wide variety of uses you’ll never tire of. Simply add some finely chopped chillies to a jar of oil, seed and all, and refrigerate for a few days. The chillies will slowly infuse the oil with its smoky sweet flavor - perfect for drizzling over salads, onto pizza, and cooking meat with.
Sold in a 2.62" wide x 3.5" deep pot.
