COVETED HATCH CHILE!
It's so versatile! Great green chile flavor and not too spicy but has a little bit of a kick.
This sturdy New Mexican pepper produces long, smooth, pendant fruits with a mild heat. These (and others) are the most popular chiles commercially grown in New Mexico; as a group they are known as 'Hatch Chiles'. People drive and fly from far and wide to attend the annual Hatch Valley Chile Festival held every September in Hatch, New Mexico!
Adaptable, this variety loves hot days and cool nights. Plants are vigorous and compact with heavy foliage to prevent sunscald. Fruits ripen from a light green to red, but are most often used green.
