An heirloom variety originally from the southwest corner of France called Landes. The name translates to "sweet pepper from Landes”.
A sweet pepper, that is long and wrinkled and sometimes twisted. Quite variable, fruits average 8 inches long but can reach a foot, with ease. The peppers ripen from green to red and are used fresh or cooked.
The flavor profile is sweet and fruity and are known for a Basque recipe called Pipperade. As for me, I intend to use them to make a confit. Excellent for fresh eating, frying and anywhere a sweeter pepper is called for.
Sold in a 2.62" wide x 3.5" deep pot.
