I had the privilege of participating in the growing out and final selections of this intentional cross made by my friend, Tollie Jason Haynes, of Seaside Seeds.
This variety is sun-loving and will progress quickly, producing stunning large (1lb +/-) dark pink hearts with anthocyanin shoulders. Fruits are meaty and juicy and fragrant and mellow with just the right amount of zing. Sliced, interior flesh is dark rose-pink.
Deeply serrated leaves (commonly referred to as 'wispy-leaved') look fragile and graceful. Plants appear to be gangly, like a new fawn trying to keep their legs under themselves. But don't be deceived, these are robust plants and will produce through to killing frost.
